I personally find so many benefits in having people to love. It is more productive than just worrying about yourself. When I have people around me that I love, my days are so much better.

There is something to be said about someone who worries more about the people around them than themselves. To me, it is a rewarding feeling to worry about someone else and their well-being. Even more satisfying, to help them achieve their goals.

I feel like selfishness is a very common characteristic among people today. Rather than worrying about the stranger on the side of us, we only see about ourselves.

I guess I should clarify what "worry" means to me at this point. I do not mean "worry" in the sense of constantly being concerned/stressed about someone that they care about. When I say I worry about others more than I worry about myself, I honestly just wonder about how their lives are going and what I can do to add to their day.

According to my definition, I worry about the girl that was ahead of me in the checkout line at the grocery store. I worry about all the strangers around me that I see during the day. Wondering about the people around me helps me to slow down and just think about others.

More than anything, I think I worry about others because I know that I am taken care of. I think about those around me every day with the desire to help them or just make their days better. Especially on my best days, I try to give a little bit of positivity to people so that they can enjoy in the happiness.

I honestly feel like worrying about others gives a sense to my day. Rather than spend the entire day just worrying about what I need and all the things that I want, I take the time to see about those that are around me. Those that I love, and maybe even complete strangers.

The people that I love are my reason for moving forward and pushing myself. If it were not for these amazing people, and the future people that will come into my life and get a little piece of my heart, I would not have a reason for motivation.

I want to be a better Sarah for the people that I have in my life. Not only do I deserve the best version of myself, but the people that I have around me deserve to have my best-self present. I know they do not expect my best self all the time, but I still want to put my best foot forward and live my best life.

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
