Wanderlust: it's the strong desire to travel. And as of late, I've got a bad case of it. All I long for is to board a plane and not look back. Maybe it's the stress of school or just a desire for some adventure that is pushing me to feel this way all of a sudden. All I do know is that I want to get away for awhile and explore the world. Here's what excites me about having the ability to travel.
1. Getting to learn new things.
I find it fun to learn and try new things. With going to a new place, the possibilities to learn are endless. It could be anything: learning a new language, a new skill, trying out a new activity, or even just learning more about the culture and it's people. My advise when abroad is to learn, learn, learn!
2. Open eyes to the world and gain some perspective.
Individually we are all just one tiny person in a gigantic world. I think we really start to realize this once we are out of our comfort zone of home and emerged into the world. Getting to go to other countries and places I find really broadens your view and your place within the world.
3. Endless opportunity for adventure.
What isn't there to love about a little adventure? Not only are you going somewhere new, you have the ability to try things you have never done before. Go on an elephant ride, go driving, eat chocolate covered bugs ate a market! Take every opportunity for adventure that you can when abroad.
4. Leave the small things behind.
Sometimes, we all get a little caught up in life. Going on a trip is the perfect time to just leave all your worries and problems behind. It is the opportunity to relax and embrace new things. I find it very therapeutic and sometimes even helpful to get away for awhile and the go back to my daily life.
5. It is the perfect place for self discover.
Not only does traveling allow you to discover new places, it allows you to discover yourself. When emerged into a new place, your minds really starts to find clarity of your life desires and who you want to be.
Take the next trip and fully embrace the benefits of traveling. You never know all the amazing things that could come from getting away.
