In college, it can seem hard to find time and energy to cook a meal instead of going to the nearest fast food restaurant or pulling out a microwave meal. Cooking requires time in order to prepare meals and enough energy to properly cook and create a tasty dinner. Many students find it hard to learn how to cook especially with the lack of time they have to look up recipes and actually cook the meal so its healthy to eat. Here are some awesome benefits you will gain if you decide to cook rather than eat out or heat up mac and cheese for the 5th time.

Cooking your own meals at home will help you be healthier.

By cooking at home, you can ensure that you eat right and prepare only meals that are good for you. You can learn to bake chicken and fish and occasionally spurge on a burger made by yours truly. Picking out healthy choices at the grocery store is the first step in achieving your healthy lifestyle.

It will save you money.

Cooking at home will save you SO much money because instead of spending $10 for stopping and getting fast food, you can get a whole bag of chicken for less than that which will last a week or longer.

Learning to cook your own meal will prepare you one day for preparing meals for your future family.

If you decide to get married and have children later in life, you will have to cook for them to make sure they survive. By getting a head start by learning to cook in college, you will learn how to make yummy meals that you can serve anyone later in life.

Cooking is sexy.

Boy or girl, if you can cook in college, you are hot stuff. If you can prepare a meal that is tasty and aesthetically pleasing you might get proposed to next week.

You are learning to be responsible.

Sooner or later you will learn how to properly prepare different meats and vegetables and even know how long things go out of date. What may seem simple can actually be somewhat complicated and without practice, you will never know your way around the kitchen.

Cooking at home has TONS of benefits so do not be scared to go out of your comfort zone and whip up something for yourself, your friends, and even your family. Cooking is for everyone and is only beneficial!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.

The dynamics of any friend group are usually determined by the personalities which make it up. Chances are, while personalities may overlap, each person in your friend group holds his or her own place. It is the differences which bring the groups together and keep them functioning.
