To My Beloved Furry Friend

For your small size, you've done big things for me.

To My Beloved Furry Friend

To my Beloved Furry Friend,

Where do I even start. At first you were just a lonely pair of eyes staring at me from the other side of the metal bars. Your paws clicked at the same time something did inside my heart as you rose to walk toward me. The workers grabbed the keys, let you out, and the moment I first pet you I knew you were something special. I still remember the first night we brought you home and you sniffed around the entire house. I laughed as you tip toed past every piece of furniture and ran past things that startled you. By the end of the night you were comfortable and I taught you how to get up on my bed to cuddle with me, which still to this day is your favorite.

The time has seemed short but it has been many years that I have had you and the things you have helped me through have been tremendous. You've always been there for me to cry to about boys, school, and beyond. Petting you is the most relaxing and comforting thing ever. You are the best stress reliever as well. Just talking to you about random things even when you can't respond has calmed me. In that same way, you have helped me talk things through and together we have made some tough life decisions; don't let this get to your head, but every time you have been right. You are always there when I need a good laugh as well. You climb on random pieces of furniture in who knows what way and you prance after your toys with so much excitement it kills me. The most random objects entertain you and you tend to sleep in the weirdest yet most humorous locations and positions.

Some days I think of where I would be without you and I realize I would be even more of a hot mess. I need you more than anyone or anything in the world and thankfully you are the one I can trust to always be there, no matter what. You are the highlight of my day and the reason why I love coming home. I know when I open the door you will be there wagging your tail or start rubbing all over my legs. We have an inseparable bond and for that I am forever thankful. Without you I would be wandering through life, constantly upset, always wanting someone to cuddle and play with, and feeling lost in this big big world.

Out of 7 billion people, you chose me and for that I feel extremely grateful. You didn't have to come to greet me, you didn't have to give me that look, you didn't have to do all the things you have done for me, yet you have. I have been blessed with the best furry friends I could ever ask for. Even though we fight and you get on my nerves when you lick my face while I want to sleep or beg for food while I'm eating, I will always throw you something every now and again or allow you a minute to go to town because I love you. And without you, I would be nothing.

Thanks for being you and for giving me all the memories, laughs, advice, cuddles, and more.

Love,

Your Person

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
