Bella Hadid has been drawing massive attention lately, but this time she is not stomping down a runway nor gazing blankly into a fashion photographer's lens. The Real Housewives offspring turned Insta-model recently partnered with Complex to film a shopping video with Joe La Puma at Kith in New York City.
The pair had a stimulating conversation about Ms. Hadid's personal style, her friendly competition with model-sister Gigi, as well as the romantic symbolism that derives from wearing her favorite pairs of sneakers.
"You know, she does her shit and I do mine." Said Hadid as she nonchalantly shrugged off any bad blood between her and sister Gigi. "But I got these! and she got Reebok." Hadid smirked as she elegantly lifts her leg to show Joe La Puma the sneaker she is wearing.
While pointing to various sneaker designs and discussing what a love interest should wear to get to the fashion model's heart, Ms. Hadid displayed a dialectal affinity towards using the words "dope" and "homeboy".
“If homeboy’s coming through with these [sneakers], things are quiet. Yeah, no, it's quiet for him. But like if he comes through with like THESE [Air Maxes, Jordans] . . . homeboy’s gonna, like... get it.” Hadid coyly cocked her head with a flirtatious glimmer in her eyes.
Joe La Puma suggested other basketball sneakers but Ms. Hadid's heart was absolutely set on the Nike Air More Uptempo's. "You know what? I love basketball sneakers and I think they're some of the dopest shoes that Nike has..." Hadid reasoned "But... I mean I already picked these out [Nike Air More Uptempo]. I'm going for these; they're coming home with me."
The beloved paparazzi muse also shared some fashion tips. "For me, I think girls look so sexy in tennis shoes. I think it's like the dopest thing; you could wear it with a dress; anything you would want." The two rambled on about sneakers and Bella's career. After Bella was done shopping, she gave Joe a hug, slid on a pair of dark sunglasses and strutted out into the busy streets of New York City.
Social media followers couldn't help but create a fresh meme from Bella's dope discourse, citing the taste of cringe-worthy awkwardness the video illustrated as it's catalyst.
Several people found the video confusing and wondered why the fashion model talked in such a bewildering manner. Others argued that Bella was trying a bit too hard, detailing how Bella's "urban speak" was a failed attempt of appearing cool and hip.
Nevertheless, we can all appreciate that Ms. Bella Hadid has given birth to fall 2017's latest meme.
