Why I Believe in Pink

Audrey Hepburn: A Woman's Icon

Why I Believe in Pink

Audrey Hepburn is thought to be a very influential woman. She was a fashion icon and a role model to women. She spoke her mind and believed that if you set your mind to it, nothing is impossible. A famous monologue of hers has stuck with me for years. She once said “I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.” I have seen bits and pieces of this quote all over the place. I have seen it done in graffiti under bridges, printed on pillows in Bed, Bath and Beyond and on tapestries and all over the internet. I truly think I see this so much because it is influential to me.

I believe in pink.

You can’t go wrong with a little pink. Every girl needs some pink blush to brighten her face. Every girl can benefit from some pink lipstick. And most of all, you can never go wrong with a couple little pink accessories. Pink will always be in.

I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner.

If you are around friends and family and you aren’t laughing something is wrong. The best thing someone can do is make you laugh. I believe that is one of the most important qualities a significant other can have. My mother always told me that she fell in love with my dad because of his sense of humor. My grandpa used to always say my mother was my father’s best audience because no matter what he said she would laugh. Laughing is definitely the best way to burn a couple calories.

I believe in kissing, kissing a lot.

Being affectionate is important. I never fail to kiss my grandma every time I see. I kiss my sister even though sometimes she wants to kill me and I kiss my parents whenever I leave the house or whenever I think they need to know. You never know when the last time you’ll be with someone is. Kiss them while you can.

I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong.

Tough times happen, but being strong is important. If you can be strong through anything, even the hardest times, then all is conquerable. If the world as you know it is falling apart, you can’t let yourself fall apart too.

I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls.

A girl with a genuine smile may be the best thing a girl can wear. When you are happy, you have a glow to you. You look like you feel inside. Being happy is the honestly the best emotion someone can feel. I know that whenever I am happy I just ooze happiness and I can speak on my own behalf when I say that happiness is definitely contagious.

I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.

Never give up. There will always be tomorrow. If you give up today, then you have no time for miracles tomorrow.

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
