This world has so much negatively. It’s horrible and almost unbearable. This world has so much judgement and violence, it’s just disgusting. People killing their own, race against race, labels are defining people not people defining people. Everyday a mother, a father, a sister or a brother has to bury their loved one. People are focusing on the label they are given rather than the inside and what their hearts are made of. The people up there in heaven, the ones who fought so hard for change, are now shaking their heads, weeping of what happened to the world they fought so hard for.

Right now we take steps backward instead of forward. People are crying all over the world, screaming stop the madness, stop the darkness, please someone wave the white flag. It’s getting harder every day to keep fighting. I never pictured a world like this where people are being kill by people for no reason! What does violence do? What good can come from it? All it causes is more violence; it really doesn't solve anything.

I'm so tired of turning on the TV or the news and seeing another person killed for no reason. Even if they did have a reason, that doesn't justify it at all. What reason could be good enough to take someone's life, no matter who it is? That person is still a person and doesn't deserve to die, especially in one of the worst ways possible: Murder! It just breaks my heart how much darkness there is in the world. Is this really all we have to look forward to now, seeing people die for senseless reasons, living in a world where there is nothing but judgment?

I don't care about race, gender, religion, or whatever else there is. If you rip off everything, all that is left is just a human! That's what we all are — humans. It's wrong to judge someone just because you don’t understand who they are or how they live their life. That’s not right! You don’t have to like that person or be the best of buddies, but don’t make fun of them. It’s just so messed up how much we judge each other. Don’t people know it’s so hurtful and mean?

Words hurt more than punches because when you’re punched it hurts in the moment and the wound will heal, but words stick with you forever, eating away and affecting you forever mentally. Why do you think we have so many suicides? Mainly because of people being judged and bullied.

Aren't we all people? Aren't we all humans? Don't we all live on Earth and breath the same air? Then explain to me how we are so different! Sure some of us want to be different and express ourselves, but since when has that been such a crime? If we were all the same, the world would be boring. We are supposed to be a place of equality. I don't see much of that anymore and it has to change right now.

People, we need to remember we are much more than our label, more than our names, and more than the stereotypes that are given to us. Each and every one of us is a wonderful incredible human being who has so much to give to this world and so much potential. We are more than labels, a person, a name, a group, a community, and a human! No label or name can ever describe you or define you.

I feel like we are getting worse and worse every day. I don't want people to fight anymore; I want everyone to be respected equally. I know violence won't ever end, but I feel there are still more ways to decrease it than what we are doing.

Let's stop feeling angry for an entire race or group of people for something that only a few did or believed. Not everyone is a racist, not everyone is anti-black, not every policeman is bad or a murderer, not everyone dislikes the LGBT, and not every person should be judged based on someone else’s actions. There are billions of people on this Earth. Some are nice, and some are mean. Not every black person hates cops, not ever white person hates black people, and not ever cop hates black people. I know there are people who do, but don't put every single person in that category. That isn't fair.

Can we for one night just hold hands and hug and the only words spoken are I love you and I am here for you? Can we do that even for one day just to fill the Earth with love instead of sadness and despair?

I am a positive girl. I believe that maybe one day we can just love and hug each other. That won't happen if we don't come together and not just when there is tragedy, but also in the good times too.

I believe there is a brighter tomorrow, a better day; that maybe one day the world will be better. We can't give up because even in times of darkness there is light. I believe in hope because that's all we have. I personally refuse to bury my head in the sand and just give up, and neither should the rest of you. The world is dark, but we all have a small fire that can light up and fight the dark times. We all need to stand up together and make a change before things turn even worse. We need to remember that we have to work together as a group in order to make this world a better place.

I believe in us, and I believe in the human race. I believe in our community and in America. No one said that living in this world was going to be easy or even perfect. Life doesn’t have a manual nor does it have a playbook on how to live in society. The world does look kind of bleak right now, but I believe in this word called hope. Hope is getting up when everything is down. It's rising above tragedy, and knowing there is a better tomorrow. It’s what helps you have faith in the human race, and helps you believe in people; that not everyone is bad and that there are good people. That the world isn't just full of hate, prejudice, racism, violence, murder, killing, bullying, judging, and darkness and that there is light. That love will always win and kindness still exists. I believe in hope, that we will find our way. Hope is our strongest light; never lose it even when times are tough. That’s when hope is needed the most, and I know with hope by our sides we can conquer and overcome anything.

Come on people, let’s come together and take a stand. A few people aren't going to make a difference. Everyone is needed in order to make this world less judgmental and violent and more loving and excepting. As long as we have each other and hope, I am sure we can change the world.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
