We've all seen the meme about how there is always one kid in your class who was obsessed with horses. Well that girl was me. From t-shirts, to books, everything I had revolved around my Equine Friends. I dreamed of what my first horse would look like, and what I would name him, I would play with toy horses from the minute I got home till I went to bed. Obviously most people thought this was "weird". Most people can't understand how us "horse girls" could love an animal so much. And those people don't understand what exactly us horse girls have to deal with. Here are just a few.

1. Hay, Everywhere!

I mean, how did it even get there?!

2. Only talking about horses

That's all I ever talked about!

3. Only reading horse books.

Most of my book shelf is horse books.

4. Walking into a store in your riding clothes, especially after a long, hot ride, people walking past you make this face.

5. When people ask if you race

And wishing people knew there was more to riding then racing.

6. When someone asks if you are going to the Olympics.

I mean, if you wanna pay for me to go and a world class horse, I can try. Otherwise, no.

7. When someone tells you the story of when they rode a trail horse, comparing it to your riding.

8. And then they use that only experience they have had to try and tell you riding is easy.

Please, don't ever say this. Don't ever say it is not a sport.

9. After them telling you its not a sport, wanting them to try this

10. And when people telling you it is easy, not realizing you have to deal with this.

You try staying on.

11. Only other equestrians knowing the blood, sweat and tears that go into this sport, and how much dedication and love we have to put into these amazing animals.

So if you were that "horse girl" embrace it!

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Obsessive Thoughts Keep My Brain Stuck On A Loop And Me Stuck On My Couch

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.

I don't know if it is related to my anxiety, perfectionism or depression. I don't know why it happens. It's frustrating, it's painful and it stops me from functioning.
