As the wintery cold days approach and the snuggle season begins, the intensity of having a loving companion grows amongst most college students. It is only natural to want someone there to love and caress during times of extremely cold temperatures. If you're someone like me, who has decided to leave the first semester as a period of self-love and discovery, then you have come to the right place. I am here to tell you that being alone is okay even during times like this when physical touch can help lessen the effects of the frigid weather. Watching happy couples stroll around campus can sometimes be a serious slap in the face for many people, myself included. But after many months of experiencing the single life, I've come to accept the fact that jealousy and longing for love is only a waste of time. In reality, we should be happy for those who have found each other and aspire to possess that in the future. While being in a relationship can be a wonderful experience, taking the time to work on and develop yourself can be just as fulfilling. Love is something that comes from the weirdest places so I urge you to stop looking and let nature take its course. Enjoy those amazing friendships and look for things that make YOU happy. Sometimes when we're involved in a relationship, we tend to set aside the things that make us ourselves. So as the Holidays approach, try spending that extra time with the people you have right in front of you. They are there for a reason.
(12/17) YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE IN A RELATIONSHIP DURING THIS WINTERY SEASON AND HERE'S WHY.
My opinion on why its more than okay to be single in winter.
