For the past week, I've had an annoying terrible cold. For those suffering through the same thing, it gets better (wait... does it? I've been waiting an awful long time..). In the summer, having a cold is neither expected nor appreciated. However, it is hot out and germs are thriving! Shoutout to Mucinex for being a real one.
1. Coughing attacks in public
GiphyEveryone who has had some sort of terrible cough/flu/cold/upper respiratory infection knows that when you get that throat tickle, there's no stopping.
2. Having to call in sick to work
GiphyMaybe for some people this is one of the perks of being sick, but for me, I just feel like my boss thinks I'm lying.
3. Needing to have access to tissues 1000% of the time
GiphyEven in the most solemn of situations, blowing your nose is going to need to happen whether you want it to or not.
4. Having to stay in bed while your friends are out partying
GiphyOkay, so, I didn't actually get invited to anything, but I also didn't have the option to go out because I was sick.
5. Having no taste buds
GiphyEven pizza rolls, the best food ever invented, have no taste when you're sick.
6. Going to the doctor (if need be)
GiphyGetting out of bed only to go to the doctor and have them tell you that you are sick is just not worth getting out of bed.
7. Body aches
GiphyNothing is worse then getting in the nice warm shower only to have it hurt your skin because you're sick.
8. Night sweats
GiphyWith a bit of a fever, your body will heat up. Sometimes you will get chills and other times you will get hot. Sleeping in a pool of your own sweat is the byproduct of a fever (at least for me).
9. Not being able to sleep because you're coughing
GiphyWake up, cough. Get back in bed, cough. Attempt to sleep, cough.
10. Finishing your Netflix show because you've spent the past 7 days only watching Netflix
GiphyNow I have nothing to watch.
Claps to everyone who has survived the dreariness of the common cold this summer!
