Being a second semester senior is no walk in the park. While the school work keeps piling in, your motivation decreases by the minute. In addition, you can’t decided whether you are ready to be an adult or are sad about leaving college behind. Here are some struggles of being a second semester senior as told by our favorite Pawneean Leslie Knope.

1. Any energy you once had for focusing on your grades is diminishing rapidly with each passing moment and you find that even finishing a small assignment takes more effort than ever.

2. Since you are now a twenty-something, you are learning that you can no longer go out two nights a week without it seriously impacting your life.

3. You know that the start of your career is right around the corner which makes accepting that you’re still a broke college student that much harder. Bitter city party of one!

4. Despite being older and wiser, you still procrastinate each and every assignment and hate yourself because of it.

5. You realize that you are in classes with people who were born in 1997 and you must deal with the fact that they practically view you as a senior citizen at this point.

6. You have friends that are already in the workforce and are moving to cool new places, while you are still in the stage of your life in which Taco Bell makes for an acceptable dinner and sweatpants constitute appropriate daily apparel.

7. You are on an emotional rollercoaster due to wanting to maintain your GPA while being completely over school and also realizing that you need at least a C in your classes to receive your diploma.

8. You have come to learn that drinking wine is one of life’s most beautiful pleasures and shall not be wasted.

9. You feel as though you should leave the college junk food lifestyle behind but aren't fully ready to commit to a healthy diet just yet.

10. On top of mounting school work, you are either searching for a job or an internship that will most likely begin as soon as you graduate.

11. As excited as you are to begin your career, you can’t help but feel a little sad to be leaving college and entering for adult world FOR REAL.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
