I have never worked retail during Black Friday before. I've always been the shopper, but this year I got to be on the other side of it. I got the wonderful opportunity to work a thirteen hour shift this past Black Friday. Thirteen hours that brought many thoughts, feelings, and adrenaline. Here are some thoughts I had as a retail worker.
My feet hurt. At the beginning it was all okay, but as I kept on walking, adjusting products, and helping customers my feet had become numb. I was limping by the end of the day. There was nothing I needed more than a good foot massage.
Is it my meal break yet? Running around takes a lot out of you. There is nothing more needed than a meal break.
Where did all these people come from? No seriously. There's so many people.
Why am I enjoying this? I never thought I'd enjoy working, but Black Friday gave me such a rush. I'd honestly do it again in a heart beat.
I have a new found respect for retail workers. I never realized how much patience, kindness, and energy was needed for this job. There is a lot that goes in to it.
I hope everyone had a fabulous Black Friday. I hope everyone found fabulous deals. Until next year Black Friday!
