Growing up in the south has always been a love/hate relationship for me. I’ve always had the “different” viewpoint, so I’m not sure why it’s a surprise to anyone that I’m not religious. I’m sure there are a lot of you out there who understand what it’s like to not believe in “something,” so this one’s for you.
1. When your aunt asks you to lead prayer at Thanksgiving.
2. TFW a sidewalk preacher starts yelling about demons.
3. Hearing “Have a blessed day!” as you leave a store.
4. When your uncle praises the lord for SOMETHING that clearly was the result of nature, not a man in the sky.
5. You don’t have to buy a new Easter dress/suit because you WON’T be attending church that day.
6. The books beside your bed do not include a bible. Not a single one in sight.
7. TFW someone wants to pray for you.
8. When you're just trying to open Christmas presents and the fam keeps talking about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
9. Walking into a store to see Bible verses on the back of T-shirts.
10. Your list of future household decor items does NOT include a crafty cross from Hobby Lobby.
