Typically, during the summer, I always dread going back to school, because it always leads to moutains of homework, lack of sleep, and all kinds of responsibilities that I am not ready to face. Though, when the start of the school year drew closer and closer, I found that I was looking forward to being back at my beautiful home away from home, mostly because I was able to see my best friend again. The best part was that we're literally neighbors, our rooms being connected by a little hallway that leads to our bathroom and also by a shared balcony, that has the best view.

Now, before I get ahead of myself, let me start with how we met each other. Stephanie and I didn't meet through any class, because we literally had none together. We actually met because her and her roommate's room was right across the hall from mine and my roommate's room. If my memory hasn't failed me, I believe I met Stephanie's roommate, Rebecca, first and through her we started to hang out more. For the life of me, currently, I cannot remember how or why it happened, but we became fast friends. Whenever we saw each other in the hallways, we'd always greet each other with a sound. No 'hello' or 'hi'. Just these weird sounds that would cause any normal person to pause in confusion and give us a look. We didn't care though. It was amusing and always made us laugh.

I think what helped us to become friends so easily was that we had many similiar interests and could talk for hours about literally anything. This past week alone, we talked about the new FNAF game for a few hours, before talking about a bunch of things related to YouTube and gaming. One night, because we were trying to distract ourselves from midterms, we went back and forth, sharing videos and songs with each other.

The best thing about being best friends with my suitmate is that I can rely on her to be there for me, make me laugh on terrible days, and never judge me for my faults. I can go on and on about memories that we have shared together, but what more do you need to know? If you would have told me that I would be living next door to my best friend as a sophmore, back when I had first started college, I might not have believed you. Now, however, I could not imagine us not being best friends, her and I. I thank God all the time for putting Stephanie in my life and I look forward to making all kinds of ridiculous new memories with her in the future.

10 Things Only Equestrians Understand

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.
