You'll Lose A Lot Of People When You're Honest

When you're honest, you'll lose a lot of people. Even some people that you've become very close with will walk away when you decide to be honest.

When you're honest, you'll lose a lot of people. Even some people that you've become very close with will walk away when you decide to be honest. This may seem like a bad thing because who wants to lose friends? But, in reality, it will ween out the good ones from the bad.

There have been many times in my life when I had to speak up to a friend and talk about the stuff that is hard to talk about. The hard stuff, the things we want to just sweep under the rug because it will almost be easier to. But that's when being honest is the most important.

The only way any friendship will survive (if you actually want a real, meaningful relationship) is if you are transparent and honest with how you are feeling. If this person is a friend, they will respect this and share their feelings with you. Usually, this ends in hugs and laughter, and the friendship becomes stronger because of it.

A real friend is someone who appreciates honesty, no matter how hard it can be to say. It shows that you care about them and it shows that they care about what we say.

If someone chooses to walk away from you because you were just being honest and transparent with your feelings, then that's on them! Who would want to be around someone that you have to lie to, anyway?

I'm sure we have all been in some sort of relationship, with a friend or a companion, where we felt as if we had to walk on eggshells around them. Nervous to be our genuine self, afraid to be truthful just in case they freak out at how we actually feel. If that is the case, then that person does not belong in your life in the first place.

You see, when you are honest, it opens up a whole world of people who are meant to be in your life. You'll attract like-minded people who are true to their word, just like you. That means no more second-guessing, no more having to walk on eggshells. You are free to speak your mind and it will be heard by the ones around you.

So, keep being honest and true. You may lose some people, but you'll gain so much more in quality.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.
