Congratulations college students, we're done with another year of college and finally home for the summer. We spent our last few classes envisioning summer being full of laying out by the pool, old friends, and lounging on the couch.
But then the reality of being home for three months sets in — and it's not quite all that we dreamed up. Here is the reality of being home for summer break as told by "Gossip Girl."
1. You finally arrive at home sweet home after making your long, miserable drive.

2. After a rough day of unpacking and cleaning, you finally get to go visit with some of your hometown friends.

3. Then when you come home, your mom decides to show her love for you in the best way possible — your favorite home cooked meal.

4. A few days full of being pampered by your parents go by and then they ask you the dreaded question, "Do you have a job for the summer?"

5. Then they follow up by hitting you with your "summer to-do list."

6. As if the day couldn't get worse, you see your sibling wearing all of your clothes.

7. To get away from the horrors of your household, you go out for a while, but of course you run into the girl you hated in high school.

8. You decide that you must vent about this awful run-in so who better to turn to than your old best friend.

9. After a night full of laughs you head home to get into your own bed (which you still get excited about sleeping in).
10. You wake up the next morning expecting another relaxing summer day, but your parents choose to confront you about how negatively your laziness has affected you.

11. No matter how hard you try and fight it, they slowly stop pampering you and treating you with your favorite meals.

12. And you finally realize that it's just going to be another boring, hot summer in your dull hometown.
