Being home from college is great but it does take a lot of getting used to. You go from having all of the freedom in the world to telling your parents every move you make and sometimes this can be a tough transition. Chores, working, not having to wake up for an 8am class, and even not having home work to do all takes some getting used to.

Going so long with out seeing a dog and being unsure of how to react when you finally see one again.

Dogs are mans best friend but being in college and not seeing one for a couple of months may make you unsure of how to react. But trust me this feeling will soon fade and you will attack a dog with love and all you'll want to do is pet all of the dogs you see.

Asking your parents to please let you go out with your friends knowing that you have work tomorrow.

Asking your parents to do things after going so long without needing permission can seem like a big pain in the butt. In the end they just want to know where you are in case something bad happens or if they need to contact you.

When you get your first paycheck from work knowing how broke college has made you.

.

Even if it was just a $100 paycheck you are still excited because your bank account is finally in the triple digits again.

Deciding what food you should order when your hanging out with your friends and realize you have a total of $20 to spend.

Pizza is inexpensive and delicious, so there is never any fighting when someone asks if we should order pizza.

When your mom wakes you up to give you a list of chores that you need to do by a certain time.

Chores are already one of the worst things to do, but its even worse when your parents wake you up just so you can do them.

Realizing that its almost the new year and you want to look good in your NYE outfit.

Diets are a good thing although losing weight and eating right is one of the hardest things to do unless you have motivation and a good support system.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.
