Why is it the little things mean the most?

How My Boyfriend Made Me Feel Beautiful
Rylee

Every day, each individual girl would like attention in some way. It could be as simple as a compliment to build her self-esteem, just by saying she is beautiful. Not to be cliché, but my boyfriend did the cutest thing anyone has ever done for me and I nearly cried. He made me feel beautiful on a day I didn't, and let me tell you ladies out there reading this, he didn't just say it! He made something that I can use everyday to remind myself what he thinks of me. I was pretty amazed by all the effort he put in to make this for me. I'm not saying every guy has to do this or should do this, but it was something I will never forget. The simplicity of all this is just to be reminded that all of us are beautiful in our own way. Many girls have self-esteem issues and I understand some guys do as well, but they are most commonly found in women because of what society deems perfect. We must open up our eyes and realize society doesn't control what beautiful is, because at the end of the day you will find someone who thinks you're beautiful and love you just as you are. Also, we must remind ourselves there are different types of beautiful and that's what makes us all different in our own ways. You know what matters the most? The little things. Why is it the little things mean the most? Personally, I think it's because someone goes out of there way just to see you smile. Here's something that shows the little things count.

Sometimes you just need to explore together and have fun so you can just let go of things or, if needed, have time to vent to each other down by the water, somewhere it's peaceful and you become stress free.

1. Him and I.

They say the best things in life are free and I've never felt so free with him by my side, through whatever it may be. He's always there as a gentleman should be. The free things in life not only being our adventures, but his love, patience, encouragement, reassurance and so much more.

2. I was given this card and rose with no further instructions.

Receiving something like this can easily put a smile on a girl's face because of the fact you went out of your way just to do something little, but yet seems so big. I was questioning what this could be, but without a further thought I decided to open it of course as I sat by my bathroom mirror.

3. This is what I first saw when I opened the envelope.

Reading it like you would read a normal paper, it is backwards. So I figured it out. You must read it in the mirror. So as I continued this little read I started to see what it really said.

4. So I began to read this little booklet in the mirror to see what it states.

5. I began to read the sweetest thing a guy has ever written me.

At that exact moment,t I've never felt so beautiful reading these in a mirror building the suspense of what the next page might just say.

6. As I flipped the next page it only began to get sweeter.

When he mentions the Lafayette, he's talking about Hotel Lafayette in Buffalo, New York. It was when I first asked him to be my date to our college dance and I was shocked when he did say yes.

7. When I read this I realized I've never been so intertwined with someone before.

8. He makes me smile and I make him smile.

9. Find someone who likes everything about you, even your flaws.

10. He made me feel like I'm the only girl in the world he would ever want. I've never felt so wanted. I almost cried reading this beautiful booklet he made me and I thought it was worth a share.

11. Love is precious yet it can be so kind, but this love is very intertwined. Learn to love and be loved. Those two things together are one of the most beautiful things you can feel.

And if he ever reads this, which he probably will I want him to know that I have never felt so loved.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
