We all know what timelines are; that order of events for any one purpose. We use them to be productive, to plan our lives, to stick to a plan, and we use them for weddings.

Now, as a wedding planner, I will tell you that a wedding timeline is a scared item...I usually have 5 copies printed and with me at all times during the wedding.

I mean business with my timelines.

So, for the big question, what should a timeline look like?

Well, it should be organized in chronological order and be sectioned - pre-ceremony, ceremony, and reception. All the good things to keep things orderly and, of course, timely.

Here's the flow of the wedding starting with ceremony.

Ceremony

Music begins as guests start arriving

All guests are seated

Officiant, Groom, and Groomsmen take their place at the altar

Processional

Groom's Grandparents

Bride's Grandparents

Groom's Parents

Bride's Mother with escort

Bridal party ending with Maid of Honor

Ring Bearer and Flower girl

Bride proceeds with her Father

Welcome

Rite of Marriage

Recessional

The new Mr. and Mrs.

Best Man and Maid of Honor

Bridal Party

Family

Guests

At this point the marriage license is signed and picture taking begins while guests head over to cocktail hour to enjoy.

Reception

Guests are seated

Grand Entrance

Groom's Parents

Bride's Parent

Bridal Party

Best Man and Maid of Honor

The New Mr. and Mrs.

First Dance

Father/Daughter Dance

Mother/Son Dance

Blessing before dinner is served

Dance floor opens after dinner

Cake cutting

Open dance floor

Bouquet and garter toss

Open dance floor

Special exit

Keep in mind that timeline is not chiseled in stone and things can be mixed up however you may please!

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
