Astrology: the ancient practice of studying the movements and positions of the sun, moon, planets, and stars in the belief that they influence human behavior.

Some people believe it’s a total hoax. Others, like my college roommate, are obsessed to the point where our dorm room door is now plastered with zodiac memes that match our charts.

Case in point.

Historically, I’ve never given astrology a second thought. Firstly, I don’t really resonate with the Gemini characteristics, not do any of my horoscopes ever come true. But my real issue with astrology was that it boxed people up. Humans are such unique, intricate creatures, so I could never get behind a field that tried to box all 7 billion people in the world into twelve categories. There was just no way.

And then there was a way. Through my roommate, I learned that I have an entire zodiac chart, made from not only the day I was born but the exact location and time. It’s so complex that my chart is not only composed of my sun sign but something like this:

I have my sun sign which consists of the characteristics that are inherently me, but there’s so much more. My moon sign describes my emotions and my subconscious, while my ascendant (rising sign) describes how others view me, especially when I first meet them. Honestly, no wonder I never recognized all the Gemini characteristics within myself because I have pieces of nearly all twelve signs within me.

Maybe astrology is full of BS. Maybe it isn’t. Either way, I don’t see the harm in at least finding your chart and reading it. If it brings the true believers comfort in knowing exactly who they are according to the sky, then good for them. If non-believers never take the time to at least look at their chart for the fun of it, then they’re missing out. So give it a shot; perhaps you'll find it as entertaining as I have.

There’s the link to find your own chart. You’re welcome.
