Do you remember those old bedazzling kits you got as a kid where you could stamp sparkles into your blue jeans? Or those hair devices that stuck sparkles in your hair? If you do, you probably never thought years later that your old childhood phase would be popular again. Well, it is!
The media has helped bring back this obsession with sparkles. Youtuber Shane Dawson recently made a two-part video where household items were covered in sparkles by Instagram-famous bedazzler Bling'd Up. From coke bottles to sewing machines, it seemed like anything bedazzled goes. I wanted to try it out myself and here are the great things I discovered to make your next bedazzling craft a success.
1. Choose Household Items You Like

Don't pick your favorite thing for your first try at bedazzling, and pick something that is so normal that making it bedazzled would be so extra. Because if it's not extra, why did you bedazzle it in the first place? Some examples include kitchen condiments, cleaning items, and makeup.
2. Buy From Amazon

While your Michael's store might be right down the road, they most likely don't have the color or quantity of gems you need. If you are making a larger piece, think about getting something like a 3000 piece set. While it might sound like a lot, it really isn't, and if you go on the link you can get a good deal for less than $8.
3. Get A Picker Wax Pencil
While most come with one, a wax picker pencil will pick up the rhinestones with ease so you can do the work very quickly and don't get your fingers sticky from glue.
4. Don't Go Overboard On Glue

When using a nice, heavy-duty glue, you only need a little. I found doing a fine line, a few inches long, would help me keep the bedazzles in a straight line on my piece while also let me glue down a few gems every time I had glue on my object.
I hope that this article will motivate you to get back into the gem lifestyle you have been missing out on.
