God Constantly Grows And Refines His Children To Become More Like Christ

God's desire for His children is for them to constantly become more like His Son.

God Constantly Grows And Refines His Children To Become More Like Christ
Psalm 118:14 – "The Lord is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation."

One of the many beautiful things about being a child of God is that we are always becoming. We are always in a process of refinement, growth, and celebration.

The word "refinement" refers to the process of removing impurities. This is what God does every day of our lives. He is constantly making us more and more like Him. In order to do that, He makes us aware of impurities so that when we surrender them, He can remove them. Refinement is only beautiful when we make the choice to surrender.

As I have stated in other articles, growth is essential in every Christian's life. As God is refining, He is also growing - growing in us the fruits of the Spirit, such as more love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The truth is that God did not save us to leave us the way He found us. He saved us to preserve, grow, and create in us Christ, His Son.

Lastly, we are always in the process of celebration. I say that celebration is a process because it is gradual. To celebrate something means to have constant joy. A common misconception is that joy is life-based, that it only occurs when we feel happy about something. But joy and celebration can also be found in the hardest circumstances because they come from God, not from trials or tribulations.

So today, sons and daughters, as you are in the process of becoming, embrace God's desire to refine and grow you. Celebrate each step and each movement towards becoming like Christ. Live in the moment and don't ever let anyone belittle how far you have come.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
