Each day we all face things that we want to change. Things we want to change about ourselves, things we want to change about what's around us, and even things we want to change in others. While we know these changes are most likely not going to happen, we still feel that if they were to happen, everything would be perfect.
But there is really no need to be perfect. We all get those ideas in our heads that perfect is desirable and perfect is what's needed to be in our society. However, that is not the case, that is not what anything is about.
We all get snip bits into others lives and see what is good in them. We see their "perfect" lives and want that for ourselves. But what we do not see is all the work that it took to get there. We do not see the time and the dedication they put into it, the failures and the little victories. All we see is the end result and get upset when we are unable to have that ourselves.
If you put in your own time and do what you need to do, you too will see the results you want, it'll just take time. You will graduate. You will find a job. You will find your person. You will, you just have to be patient and work for it.
But I promise you that there will be setbacks, that there will be failures and that it is going to take time for you to get what you want. You will have to work harder than you ever have before. You will have to go through the setbacks before you get what you want. But if it is something that you want bad enough, it will be worth it. It will be rewarding, and it will be better than you wanted it to be.
What you should be striving for is to be a better you, not a perfect you. A person that looks past the imperfections in yourself and in others. And a person that knows they can't have exactly what others have. Being perfect and expecting perfect is not a normal life. Life is full of imperfections and it is time to embrace those.
