Maybe Disney is onto something with the still insanely popular Frozen film. And even if you haven't actually viewed this movie, you have most likely heard it's theme song; Let It Go. Even though at first, Elsa doesn't go about letting go of all the negativity she experiences in the most constructive way, but she get there in the end and is better off after casting all that crap away.

Here are a few ways to start letting go if you're ready to embrace this new way of living in classic Disney Fashion.

Past Mistakes that Keep you Up at Night

You are truly doing this to yourself and sleep is way too important for you to be missing out on any. This is not natural and we are not programmed to do this. This incessant worrying and reliving the past is a learned trait that we pick up from our parents, siblings, friends, coworkers, anyone really. Unless it is something serious like you murdered someone 10 years ago and you're feeling super guilty about it and contemplating confessing, let it go. But if you're up late at night, punishing yourself for dating that douche bag when you were 19 or berating yourself for not making it to the gym for the last month, STOP! Let it go to make space in your life to do better and be better.

Things that are out of our control

What you can influence and what can you not influence in your life? In reality, you are in control of yourself...and that is about it. Which makes things super easy! Think of all the time, energy and space you can save when you let go of the things in your life you cannot control. Letting things you cannot control go will open up so much space in your life you might not know what to do with yourself. You will be happier because you aren't wasting time and energy getting wrapped up in unnecessary B.S. that has nothing to do with you are that is out of your control.

The Way Others Perceive You

How many times have you had your day disrupted because someone imposed their unwanted opinion onto you? This is so important to let go and life changing when you do! People don't always realize they are being negative, rude, mean, or just plain dumb, you name it! Word vomit is a real thing and people are so unaware of the symptoms they display in their day to day and spread this disease to others. You are amazing! Don't hold on to how you think others think of you, it's a huge waste of time and you are too busy being fabulous to waste any of your mind space on this.

You can start Letting Go in any and every way

You will be happier.

You will be healthier.

And you will be even more badass when you let go of anything that no longer serves you in a positive or uplifting way.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
