Because Of Alpha Delta Pi

The First, Finest and Forever

Because Of Alpha Delta Pi

Because of ADPi, I have made friends with girls I may have never ended up meeting at my university.

Going through recruitments was a way to meet girls that I would never have classes with, and who didn't live down the hall from me freshman year. No, I do not "pay for my friends" but joining this organization was definitely a way to make plenty of them.

Because of ADPi, I learned all about Ronald McDonald House Charities and that I can make a difference.

Alpha Delta Pi has been partnered with the Ronald McDonald House Charities since 1979 and this past academic year alone raised over $1,000,000. Not only do we get to raise money for the organization, but we have the opportunity to go to the houses and work hand in hand with the children staying at the houses. This organization has allowed sisters to be completely hands on in our philanthropy.

Because of ADPi, I know what it truly means to live for someone else.

Our open motto is "We Live For Each Other" and I have not met a sister who doesn't live up to that. It can be something small, like giving some meal plan to a sister in need, to dropping everything to be there for a sister who just needs someone to talk to.

Because of ADPi, I learned the true definition of "tradition".

Being the first, our traditions have been around since 1851. And with over 100 chapters in the US and Canada there are thousands of sisters sharing the same rituals. It's truly a connection like no other.

Because of ADPi, I have been changed, for good.

While I haven't finished my four years as an active sister yet, I have already been impacted greatly by this organization. It has taught me lessons, given me opportunities and experiences, and has become one of the biggest parts of my college experience.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
