Whether it be drugstore or high end, there are plenty of beauty products available for every need. But who really wants to spend money on items that don’t work the way they are supposed to? Well good news! I have compiled a list of my favorite products that will get the job done without fail.

1. Batiste Dry Shampoo (Cool And Crisp)

Where to Buy: Walmart

Price: $5.94

This dry shampoo is amazing to me because it transforms day old hair from looking limp to looking voluminous. The smell of this particular dry shampoo is very fresh and it makes hair easier to style and a healthier appearance.

2. Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Boosting Mousse (Mixed Berry)

Where to Buy: Walmart

Price: $2.97

The scent of this mousse alone is enough to want to buy this product immediately. When applied evenly throughout hair it creates beautiful ringlets with minimal frizz. Whenever I’m going to do something and don’t have time or effort to straighten my hair I always go straight to the mousse.

3. Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Hydrating Cleanser (Creamy Formula)

Where to Buy: Target

Price: $8.49

My skin isn’t severely dry but I do like to use a cleanser that’s hydrating so my face feels smooth. This cleanser is so creamy and gentle is basically glides right over the skin. One or two small pumps is enough to cover the entire face and the bottle lasts a good amount of time.

4. CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion (Normal To Dry Skin)

Where to Buy: Walmart

Price: $12.32

This lotion is meant for the entirety of the body but I use it only on my face. This moisturizer is the perfect step before putting on makeup and it glides on the skin but doesn’t feel thick at all. My skin tends to be a combination of oily and dry but this moisturizer works great for my skin type.

5. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (Minor Sin)

Where to Buy: Sephora

Price: $20.00

I have never used a different eye primer and I’m not sure I ever will. This primer with a subtle sparkle in it makes eyeshadow stay on for hours. Creasing is almost never an issue and although the tube of product looks small it lasts a long time.

6. Too Faced Chocolate Bar Pallete

Where to Buy: Sephora

Price: $49.00

This is hands down my favorite eyeshadow palette. Besides the phenomenal fact that it smells like chocolate every time it is opened, the colors are simply stunning. There are so many looks that can be made with just this palette and each eyeshadow proves to be very smooth and blendable.

7. Morphe Brushes

Where to Buy: morphebrushes.com

Price: $25.00

The quality of these brushes continue to astound me for the low price I paid for them. Every single one works wonderfully and I have had no problems creating more complicated eye looks with the help of each one. The set I have happens to be a twelve piece travel kit.

8. Makeup Forever Artist Shadow (ME-744)

Where to Buy: Sephora

Price: $21.00

The amount of pigmentation that is packed inside this single eyeshadow is stunning. With one swipe of a synthetic brush the color payoff is intense and vibrant. I love the way this eyeshadow feels on the skin because it is one of the creamiest formulas I have ever tried.

9. L’oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara

Where to Buy: CVS

Price: $7.79

This mascara is really easy to apply and super super dark. I apply one coat of just any standard mascara and then go back over with the carbon black mascara as a top coat. This makes my lashes really intense.

10. Lip Smackers Chap Stick

Where to Buy: Walmart

Price: $9.14

Call me old fashioned but I still believe Lip Smackers makes the best chap stick I have ever tried. For somebody who always has chapped lips, I want something that is smooth and feels like it’s working immediately. I also adore the fact that Lip Smacker come in a variety of flavors because I get bored of using the same flavor chap stick over and over again.

11. Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm (Standout)

Where to Buy: Walmart

Price: $6.49

The color of this balm is the perfect cherry red. It is so bold and pretty without being an unwearable color. Of course you can use this balm for special occasions but also as a pop of color with a casual outfit.

12. Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner (Glam Rock)

Where to Buy: Sephora

Price: $20.00

I only use this product when I want to go full glam with my makeup. This product claims to be a glitter eyeliner but I add it directly over certain eyeshadows when I want a full on glitter effect. Once this product completely dries down it looks beautiful as that extra element of shine.

13. Bath and Body Works Lotion

Where to Buy: Bath and Body Works

Price: $12.50

My legs and arms are often very dry and the only lotion that seems to work for me is from Bath and Body Works. I don’t know exactly what is in the formula that makes the lotion so good for dry skin but it feels so hydrating. My favorite scents include Pretty As A Peach, Snowkissed Sugar (seasonal), Gardenia And Fresh Rain, Endless Weekend, and Winter Candy Apple (seasonal).

14. Nuance Salma Hayek Meadowfoam Seed Leave-In Treatment

Where to Buy: CVS

Price: $9.99

This conditioner makes my hair feels super smooth and even prevents stubborn frizz. I apply a small bit of this product to my hair after the shower when it’s still pretty wet and either style my hair or put it up and let it air dry.

15. 3D Crest White Luxe Multi-care Whitening Rinse (Glamorous White)

Where to Buy: Walmart

Price: $6.97

I am extremely particular when it comes to mouthwash, especially when it claims to be whitening. With this product I’ve seen a pretty big difference from when I first started using it. This mouthwash also doesn’t taste horrific as did some of the other whitening products I’ve tried.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
