Over the past year, I've immersed myself in school and work. I've become more of a hermit than I already was, and I'm working on that. However, in the limited free time that I have had, I have found quite a few YouTube channels that I've grown to love. I anticipate their weekly videos. I subscribe to their feeds, follow them on Snapchat and scroll through their Instagrams.
Okay, so that may have sounded lame. I'm not lame. I feel like I should always use that disclaimer. Some people enjoy collecting comic books or skateboards while I like exploring beauty through the eyes of others.

Okay, so that may have sounded lame. I'm not lame. I feel like I should always use that disclaimer. Some people enjoy collecting comic books or skateboards while I like finding inspiration through YouTube videos. I'm sure that this is not uncommon among Millennials. Here are a few of my favorite YouTube channels.
1. Leighannsays & LeighAnnVlogs
I'm grouping these together because they're run by the same person. Leigh Ann first began her beauty channel, Leighannsays, as most beauty vloggers do. She also incorporated weekly "weekend vlogs" often. As she began to make her weekend vlogs more permanent, she created a separate channel, LeighAnnVlogs. She now runs both channels, and she posts frequently.
Before I found Leigh Ann's channels, I had never really watched vlogs before. I had watched YouTube videos, but I mostly used the website to watch music videos. However, Leigh Ann made it fun to watch her life in these short segments, and her beauty channel focuses on affordable tutorials. So, if you enjoy pineapples, small dogs, flamingos and big haired Texans who defy stereotypes, then you should definitely check out her channel.
2. Grav3yardgirl
Speaking of Texans, Bunny has created quite the community, or Swamp Family as we all refer to it, in her six years on YouTube. Eccentric by nature, she has created a channel that not only includes beauty and ghost hunting but also segments like "Does This Thing Really Work" and "First Impression Friday." Recently, Bunny was able to collaborate with Tarte cosmetics to create the Swamp Queen collection which includes a face and eye palette and two lip paints. There are many reasons that I adore Bunny's channel, but most of all she's relatable. She has anxiety, she's goofy and she enjoys giving her viewers a community to call their own.
3. Jaclyn Hill
I have to admit, I wasn't the biggest fan of Jaclyn's when I first heard about her. Back in my non-YouTube days, my sister would go on and on about this girl who could do amazing things with highlighter and blush. I didn't pay her any attention. Then, one day I decided to watch one of her videos that was recommended from another video. I quickly subscribed and proceeded to watch every video she had posted.
She's funny, sassy and above all relatable. She has collaborated with BECCA cosmetics, and her recent collection can be found here. She's quickly gaining traction with rumors of her own makeup line to be launched in 2017. The bottom line is that her makeup collection is like the most magical candy store, and she's always happy to tell her community about techniques and products that she believes in.
4. Jeffree Star
I remember people talking about Jeffree Star in high school, but his music wasn't really my cup of tea. Flash forward to 2016, and now he's a household name for makeup junkies including myself. Most of the time, I find myself trying to be more brave and innovative in my style, and he definitely inspires this passion to be yourself.
In addition to his makeup company, Jeffree Star cosmetics, he's still producing music and cultivating his own YouTube community. From collaborating with other beauty gurus to honestly critiquing other brands, Jeffree Star is a breath of fresh air. Just like almost anything else, his style and personality isn't going to be for everyone, but I highly recommend giving his videos a shot.
5. Manny MUA
Manny MUA is my newest beauty vlogger obsession. I just recently found about his channel after seeing him in both Jeffree Star and Jaclyn Hill's videos. However, I've seen enough to know that he is the real deal, and I can totally get behind his personality and style. He is hilariously adorable uses an incredible disclaimer in each of his videos informing viewers to not watch if they don't like him or his videos while he welcomes those who do enjoy his videos.
I know that he recently had a collaboration with Makeup Geek cosmetics which I'm pretty sure is still available. Also, he's been affiliated with Benefit cosmetics often in the past which is another way that I first heard about him. Obviously, he's adorable, but he's also hilarious and extremely talented so there's really no way to go wrong.
Man, I just love these guys so much. They keep it real and they look absolutely flawless while doing it. Aside from LeighAnn, who works in digital media, each one of them go their start in beauty stores like Ulta and Sephora. Hmm, now that I think about it, I don't know for sure that Leigh Ann never worked in beauty retail. Anyway, the point is that they're making their dreams come true one eyelash at a time like everyone else. So, there you go. I look forward to expanding my own understanding of beauty through the help of more people like them.
