2016 was definitely the year for fashion and beauty experiments. Fortunately, some really need to be left in 2016 and not be brought with us into 2017. It should be our New Years Resolution to not let some of these things follow us to 2017. Here are some to name a few:
1. Glitter roots
I'm not sure what was going through their heads when they thought of it, but it just seems like a bad idea from the get go. Why would someone think, "Hey, I possibly need to redye my hair, but I'm lazy, so let me put glitter in it instead"? It is hair gel and glitter mixed together, and placed on your roots to cover your outgrown roots.
2. Half Bun Hairstyle
Some people can pull this trend off, others look like they belong in Whoville. It won't be terrible if this trend didn't come with us to 2017.
3. Furry Nails
Why?
4. "100 coats" of whatever
This is just unhealthy.
5. Boxy eyebrows
Please stop, I thought this ended in 2009.
6. Waist Training
Not only does this not have any long term effects, but it can be very damaging internally.
7. Penis or Unicorn Eyeliner
Please just don't, especially Penis Eyeliner. Unicorn eyeliner is way too complex and it may look cool for special occasions, it shouldn't be considered a trend.
8. False Freckles
This is just stupid. They are nothing but temporary tattoos for your face.
9. Metallic Tattoos
These just look childish.
10. Emoji Clothes
2013 called, they want their mistakes back.
11. Socks with Sandals
Okay, this one definitely depends on the types of socks and sandals. It's pretty much a hit or miss. But lets fight to end socks with flip flops. Please.
Honorable Mention: Harambe
Harambe is dead, and while it's tragic, it's been over half a year. The memes are dead, so comparing all things to Harambe is just starting to become an annoyance.
2016. We had our laughs, but I think it is safe to say that you were terrible.Good Riddance! And goodbye to all of your terrible fashion trends!
