In just 2 months and 8 days, my childhood movie will be coming out in theaters as a live action movie. The tale of this story was written by French novelist Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve and was then rewritten by Jean-Marie Leprince de Beaumont. Beaumont's version is the version that was transformed into Disney's animated film Beauty and the Beast. The live action movie of Beauty and the Beast comes to theaters on March 17. In my opinion, they chose the cast really well. Emma Watson (to most of you as Hermione Granger from Harry Potter) will be playing the role of Belle/Beauty. The Beast will be played by Dan Stevens (to most of you Matthew Crawley from Downton Abbey). Both, I believe, will do a wonderful job in this movie.
A tale where a young village girl sacrifices herself for her father and is held in captivity by a hideous beast. Along the way, she meets his servants (who have taken the form of magical talking household items) She learns to look behind his hideous appearance and start caring for him. In the end, her father becomes sick and the Beast, who has fallen in love with her, must let her go even though, in doing so, it means his death. After Belle goes to her father, she learns of the Beast dying and soon goes back to him, but it is too late as he is already lying half-dead. She weeps over him and tells him she loves him. The magic starts when her tears fall onto him and transforms him into a handsome prince, alive and well. The tale ends with the two getting married and living happily ever after.
The lesson behind the story is that true love comes in all different shapes and sizes. True love is sacrifice with family in which Belle, the main character, sacrifices herself to protect her father, but also sacrifice when the Beast decides to let her go, even though it will mean his death. True love between friends in which Belle had made friends with the servants despite their master's orders. And lastly, true love between one partner to another. Belle fell in love with a beast. Of all the men in her town, she fell in love with a beast. It isn't about appearances that matter. Love is about the personality and how the other person makes you feel you. She was happy with the beast. If you're happy with someone, don't let their appearances trip you over. Be with that person because he/she can make you smile and laugh. Just be happy!
