A Beautiful Day For America, Cuba And Baseball

For the first time since 1999, an American baseball team traveled to Cuba, proving an end to the tense relations between the two countries.

Starting on March 22, 2016, the Tampa Bay Rays will be playing an exhibition series against the Cuban national team.

Notable fans at the game? The Obamas.

The President of the United States touched base on Cuban territory since Calvin Coolidge in 1928. Of course, they did not just come to Cuba for the baseball game. According to USA Today, "President Obama's three-day visit... focus[ed] on deepening long-neglected commercial ties between the United States and Cuba, but also drawing a harder line on human rights abuses by the Castro government."

The beautiful thing about baseball, and sport, is the way it brings people of all backgrounds together. So, what better way to prove smooth ties than share in America's favorite pastime?
