Monday. Just reading the word brings thoughts like bad, horrible, tired, worst, or even just "Ughhhhhh" to mind. We are all guilty, myself included, of being a Monday hater. In fact, some of us even despise them to the point that we think it is a bad day just because it's Monday. However, there are some things we miss about Monday that maybe we should focus on next time around to cure those Monday blues.

1. On Mondays, you can go to school or work and talk about all of the exciting things that happened over the weekend.

Majority of the time, no one is going to ask what you did over the weekend on a Tuesday or Friday, but, on Monday, everyone wants to talk about the weekend to avoid the idea they are back in school and to relive the fun moments.

2. Thanks to holidays like Memorial Day or President's Day, we get more Mondays off than any other day of the week.

3. The "It's Monday" excuse.

The only day of the week that you can say, "It's Monday." It doesn't really work as well when you say something like "It's Tuesday" or "It's Thursday." Mondays are the only day we can use that excuse and get sympathy from others.

4. Teachers use the "It's Monday" excuse also.

Breaking news: Teachers have lives too! No, they aren't out to get us and make our lives harder. They can be guilty of hating Mondays too. Sometime's you'll hear the "Wow, you guys are really quiet today. I guess because it's Monday" excuse. The teachers feel the pain of Mondays too, so they are sympathetic about it also. On Tuesdays, however, you better get your act together because by then because the Monday excuse is over.

5. Generally, everyone is a lot more sympathetic on Mondays.

We are all in this together. Mondays are a worldwide pain in the butt, so you are not alone. Friends, strangers, coworkers, everyone knows what Monday feels like, so when you're having a bad Monday, people tend to be nicer to you and remind you that "It's just Monday."

6. Mondays are an opportunity to set the tone for the rest of the week.

Start your week off right. Don't hate the day because it's Monday. Use it as a way to set yourself up for a good, productive week.

7. If you don't have a good Monday, you still have six other days to make up for it.

Bad Monday? It's only one day. Look at it as the rough run-through before the real thing. Now that it's over, you can make the rest of week amazing.

8. Monday is an excuse to treat yourself to that extra large coffee or donut you've been craving.

You won't feel as bad indulging in something bigger or sweeter on a Monday because you can tell yourself it's just something to help you get your week started right.

9. When you do have a good Monday, you feel like you're on top of the world.

During those few of times when our Mondays are actually amazing, we feel even better because of the low expectations we have for Mondays. If all of it happened on a Friday, it would just be another great Friday, but when it happens on a Monday that makes Monday amazing just because, again, it's Monday.

10. If Monday's didn't exist, then what?

Without Mondays, our rotation would be all mixed up. Now, Tuesdays would be in the spotlight and we would only have five days to make up for it. Monday gives us that day we need to prepare ourselves for the rest of the week.

Mondays are a challenge to say the least. They stand out because of negative popularity but, in the end, they are just another day. Another day we can make amazing, special, fun or recover from if it is bad. So, next Monday, try not to hate it just because of the name. Instead, stay positive, make the most of it and tell yourself, "It's just Monday."

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
