Coming back from fall break is hard. Whether you were at home with Mom's home cooked meals or on an amazing vacation, finding the motivation to get back into the swing of things can be difficult.

However, if you thought the beginning of the semester went by quickly, the time between now and winter break will go even quicker!

Here are five quick tips to get yourself back on track so you won't be kicking yourself come finals.

1. Unpack all of your stuff!

Chances are if you went anywhere over break you are coming back with suitcases and hopefully groceries Mom and Dad gave you before you left. As annoying as it is to unpack, do it sooner rather than later. Look at it as an opportunity to rearrange your room or change things up. Waiting to unpack just adds more clutter and that makes it difficult to do other things like, find your desk.

2. Don't try to do everything at once.

Coming back from break can be really overwhelming; all of a sudden it can seem like a daunting amount of tasks are ahead of you. Especially if you brought home all of your work but then didn't actually touch your backpack for the entire week... Don't panic! Ease back into your workload. Plan ahead and see what actually needs to be done immediately and then go from there.

3. Check out the calendar!

We are in the midst of the best time of year. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are all coming up. The trees are gorgeous and whether we like it or not, pretty soon there might even be snow on the ground. Use this exciting time of year to motivate you. If you can just make it three more weeks (and a little extra) you can indulge on all the delicious Thanksgiving food you want.

4. Treat Yourself!

Work really hard this entire week and reward yourself! Whether it is a new scarf, sweater or maybe just an extra pumpkin spice latte, knowing that all your hard work paid off will only motivate you to continue working hard!

5. Cherish the next few weeks!

Although you are bound to be busy right about now; school work and activities really start to pick up, but make sure you enjoy every second. The scariest part about fall break is that it means we are halfway done with the semester. If you are a senior like me it means we only have one and a half semesters left before we have to leave this place. No matter how hectic things might be, remind yourself that your time here is precious and if that doesn't motivate you to do your absolute best, I don't know what will!

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.

Tamatoa created a liar filled with shiny things simply for the purpose of tricking fish to enter and become his food. He too experiences a lesson in how easy it is to be tricked by shiny things when Moana distracts him by covering herself in glowing algae so Maui can grab his hook.
