As juicing, smoothies, and other "healthy" superfood, plant-based drinks are becoming more mainstream, Beacon Blend is the newest startup to hop on the bandwagon with a unique twist benefiting the environment and our bodies.

Coined with the phrase 'Not all juices are created equal,' Beacon Blend, created by Danielle Perretty, is the very first juicing outlet in Massachusetts that keeps the fiber in their products. The process behind this idea is using every part of the plant in the juice blend to ensure the greatest level of nutrition and lowest level of sugars.

According to Perretty's blog post, "Getting down to it, fiber is one of the biggest reasons that fruits and vegetables are good for the body. They’re full of soluble and insoluble fibers that account for helping your digestive system. Each of our blends includes the fiber and never uses anything but, organic, superfoods and produce."

Currently delivering to local communities in Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville, Beacon Blend utilizes organic and fresh vegetables, fruits, plants, etc. to create small batches of superfood juices without preservatives.

"Primarily we deliver to offices, client meetings, special events, and even weekly orders for employee perks. Beacon Blend does not have a store, we are more like the modern day milkman for corporate wellness and healthy-loving individuals," said Perretty in an interview.

These blends are unpasteurized, or, without the use of pressure and heat to push the expiration date as long as possible. Beacon Blend strays from pasteurization to ensure the quality of enzymes, nutrients, and other fibers in the juices. Therefore, it is safe, and most delicious, to consume the blends within three days of purchase.

Lists of juices, cleanses, power waters and their ingredients can be found on the juicery's website, along with their health benefits. For example, the 'Rise' smoothie contains kale, apple, banana, mint, chia seed, and date which are the perfect blend to reduce inflammation and boost omega-3 to create antioxidant rich, plant-based energy to keep you awake and motivated throughout the day.

The startup company currently creates two juices ($9.00 each) uniquely named Adventure and Harmony, five smoothies ($9.00 each), and one chia water ($5.50). Delivery is free if you order at least four bottles.

According to Beacon Blend's philosophy, "By using the whole food, we don’t discard the pulp and we don't waste food. Our juices, smoothies, and chia waters offer essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, proteins and fiber to benefit a healthy lifestyle. You're welcome, mind-body-soul."

With health on the mind, Beacon Blend has, also, worked with groups like Athleta, Fit Bit Boston, and Lung Force to promote not only a healthy body, but a healthy mind and soul by teaching yoga.

Not only are these plant-protein enriched super juice blends healthy for our bodies, but they are healthy for the environment, too, with no wasted plants and vegetables. It's the perfect balance of harmony in our health and the world around us, too.

Beacon Blend offers the ideal balance between convenience and healthy-living, which is essential while bustling through the booming streets of Beacon Hill.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
