The beach has always been my happy place. So it comes as no surprise that that's exactly where I needed to be after a long and stressful school year. I needed time to relax and decompress. I needed time to be carefree, worry free, and stress free. I needed to go to my happy place.
Since I was a little girl, I have always loved the beach. I loved building sand castles, riding the waves, looking for crabs, the list goes on and on. As I grew older, I began to love the beach for more than just the sand castles and waves. I love laying in the sand with a good book while listening to the ocean in the background. I love being surrounded by friends and family, talking and listening to music. I love watching my younger siblings and cousins running around, laughing, and having a great time. I especially love playing beach games like Kan Jam, cornhole, and bocci.
Over the years, I started going to the beach more and more, especially after I got my license. I would go to the beach all year round if I could. Sometimes, if I am driving by one in the middle of the winter, I will stop and walk around for a bit. The beach is beautiful in the winter.
The beach is a truly peaceful place. Whenever I'm angry or upset I always find great comfort in going to the beach. It calms me down and helps me relax. It reminds me that life doesn't always have to be so stressful. There is no better feeling than having your toes in the sand and listening to the sounds of the ocean. It takes you to another place, a place where all of your problems just disappear. Whether you spend an entire day the beach or just a couple of minutes, it is guaranteed to make your day and your mood better. Walking along the water or walking on the rocks always lightens my mood and puts a smile on my face.
