More often than not I see people not do something out of fear for what others may think. That something that they were going to do however, showcases their personality. The fear of not being liked, being different, or being weird restrains us from being our complete selves. Why is that? Why do we let what others think control our entire being? Are we afraid that the others won't accept us because we are just as human as they are? Is it because we have a voice that might challenge another? Whatever your reason is, you should stop and think about who you really are and that who you are is rad and awesome. We should be showcasing our differences and our really cool, unique personalities. That is what makes life fun and enjoyable. It is our individuality that keeps this world going.
Being able to express yourself in your own way has to be one of the greatest feelings in the world. It is a feeling of self-accomplishment and pride in ones work. Having the ability to do this is an amazing characteristic that us humans have. But hiding that quality makes you feel small and belittled. Why do we let ourselves hide our talents? We are just as crazy, cool, different, and imperfectly perfect as the next person. We all have our quirks. Those quirks make friendships, relationships, and happiness. It is not something that should be put on the back burner.
Being your complete self is a task not easily learned or managed. We all have a bit of stage fright at times that makes us want to curl into a ball and hide for a little while. We have to work at finding who we are as a person before that person can blossom. Our personalities are all something special and not something to be judged upon.
The next time you are in a situation where you are debating in your head, "Should I say it?" YES, do it! Do the thing. I can almost guarantee you won't regret it. If someone judges you for it, then they are not a person you should associate yourself with because they feed off of negative energy. I call those people the "fun-suckers" and sometimes they are just too far gone to help bring up to the light of day.
Go out and be yourself. I've been called weird, obnoxious, and plenty of other things, but that is what makes me, me. I am happy with who I am as a person. I am able to help people, make my friends laugh, build positive relationships with others, and most importantly, I am happy with myself. No matter what the situation is, I am myself. Don't let people bring you down for being you. You are great, special, and one of a kind.
