Be You, Be Bold

We are all so unique, why hide it?

Sometimes there are things that we want to say, but just can't get ourselves to. Sometimes there are things that we want to do, but the fear of actually following through is holding us back. Sometimes we filter what we say, because we are afraid of what others will think.

What we should be doing is saying how we feel, not holding anything back. What you want to say, needs to be heard. What you are thinking is important and should be shared. We need to stop being afraid of what others will think. We have so much to offer the world. Instead of shying away from what you feel and what you want to say, say it. Be confident in yourself and don't let the fear of judgment stand in your way.

If you want to be adventurous, then you can't let the fear of trying new things hold you back. There is so much to see, so much to do, and letting that fear keep us from seeing and doing those things would be devastating. Go adventure, do something you never have, and be bold.

Don't be afraid to be yourself, either. So many of us are filtering what we say, changing what we wear, and pushing down our personalities in order to blend in. Scratch that. Be you, be outgoing, be goofy, if people don't like that about you then you'll find people that do. We are all so incredibly unique in our own way and it would be a shame if each of us weren't sharing what makes us standout with others.

Be You, Be Bold.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
