Be Who You Say You Are

“I learned the hard way not to vent to others. Write it down. Throw it out. Tell God. Keep it to yourself.”

-Word Porn

When it comes to letting others in on your thoughts and feelings it can be terrifying, even if you trust them with everything. When you tell someone anything personal you’re exposing yourself and are going to be more vulnerable than you normally are.

Then there is the possibility that they could and go tell others what you told them in confidence. Trust is a fragile thing that can be easily broken yet difficult to earn back. If you don’t know who you can trust to tell these thoughts, feelings, and worries then you can always write it down in a journal for later use or even just write it down to get it all out then throw it away if that’s what you would prefer to do. As long as it reflects how you feel then its served its purpose.

The main thing to keep in mind is not to change to fit into society, but to impact society that I changes for the best. The best way to change anything in society is by being who you say you are and not conforming to who society says you should be. Live your life the way you want to live it and never change who you are as a person to fit into something that isn't you.

And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
