We all have our own unique stories that shape who we are as individuals. This is what makes the human race so diverse and incredible. Have you ever thought about how many people you’ve crossed paths with in your life? Each person has their own uniquely beautiful personality that is shaped by their experiences and the people that they surround themselves with. We’ve all been through our fair share of dark moments that we wish we could erase from our life story. We all have our insecurities, fears, scars, and weaknesses, but, isn’t this what makes us human? Why do we tear each other down when one glimpse of kindness could completely change, or even save someone’s life?

Spreading kindness sounds like an easy task, but we so often get caught up in our own little world that we forget to think about other people. The world can be a really dark place full of hatred, jealousy, entitlement, and judgment. People let negativity well up in their heart so much that the negativity becomes a domino effect. However, a positive attitude can have the same domino effect, and the results are beautiful. A simple smile when passing someone on the street, a written note to someone having a rough day, a really long hug with your best friend, or a good luck text for someone about to take a test are just a few easy ways to spread joy to those around you.

You never know what someone is going through, so be kind, even on your rough days (it might even make your day to make someone else’s). Take advantage of the amazing capacity to love we’ve been blessed with and let your love flood the world. I think Mother Teresa put it best when she said, “Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier”. Fill your heart with so much love that it flows into the lives of others. Reach out to people and be the light that this world so desperately needs. Someone out there really needs you and I challenge you to go find them.
