I dare you.

Be The Best You You Can Be
Kailea Jaiden Griffen

Are you being the best you that you can be? If you answered, "yes," then let me save five to seven minutes of your life and you may stop reading now. Have a lovely day!

If you answered, "no," then the following is my challenge for you: I dare you to be the best YOU that you can be, and here's how!

Persevere.

In order to be successful, you must set goals for yourself. Reaching your goals will not be easy. You will fail before you succeed, but let those failures be stepping stones to your ultimate destination. Keep striving toward your dreams.

"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him." James 1:12

Do NOT follow the crowd.

To be the best YOU you can be there's no time to worry about what everyone else is doing. Focus all your energy into figuring out who you are and what you want in life. Don't waste your time trying to fit in, when you could be making improvements to yourself. "Cool" is temporary and If you're always comparing yourself to someone else, you'll never reach your goals.

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Romans 12:2a

Treat others better than you wish to be treated.

One of the main purposes that we're on this earth is to serve one another. Everyone one earth is struggling in different ways and what better way to serve one another than to show kindness.

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving eachother as Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:32

Do NOT worry.

Every minute spent worrying about an issue is a minute wasted. God already has everything figured out, so let Him handle it.

"Why fear the future? For you are being pursued only by His goodness and unfailing love." Psalm 23:6

Be humble.

If you live your life to glorify yourself, you've gained nothing. Selfish ambition will result in lonely nights and enemies. Learn to do good things out of the kindness of your heart instead of expecting a reward in return.

"Serve one another humbly in love." Galatians 5:13

Love yourself.

Before you can be the best YOU possible, you need to know exactly who you are and love yourself. God created you, flaws and all, for a specific purpose. Once you learn to love the person you were meant to be and realize that God loves you, then you will be able to live the life you've were made to live.

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Therefore, be the you that God intended for you to be; I dare you.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
