I had an amazing time!

"Be Our Guest" Part 2

Last week, I left off talking about day one of my trip to France. This week, the adventure continues as my family and I roam the streets of Paris. We decided to check out one of the infamous malls (an upmarket department store chain, as the French call it in English) in Paris: La Galeries Lafayette. From the outside of this department store or mall, it looks small. But once you stepped inside, it was so huge! Here are a few pictures from the inside of the Galeries Lafayette.

This is a picture of the ceiling of the Galeries Lafayette. The department store opened up in 1912, with a dome in the style of Art Nouveau (which literally translates to 'new art' and is a creative style of international arts mixed together). Because of its view and its sale of famous brands such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and L'Oréal Paris, the Galeries Lafayette has become one of the famous tourist attractions in Paris.

I was on the fourth floor while I took this photo. As you can see, the department store is huge. With makeup and beauty products on the first floor, going up with women's fashion and men's fashion, and expanding up to brands as mentioned before: It was amazing to see such a huge mall. As a girl who loves beauty and fashion, it was a dream come true to visit this place!

Our next stop was a few blocks down. The Mercedes-Benz store. When I tell you how much I love sportscars, I LOVE SPORTSCARS. It was super exciting and super cool to be in there. At that time, there were so many people that I couldn't explore all of the cars displayed. This car was one of the few that had a clear pathway to view it so I hurried myself over to check this car out and it was amazing.

We kept walking and stumbled upon the actual Louis Vuitton building where both my grandma and her sister wanted to take a picture in front of. This building is actually Headquarters for all Louis Vuitton brand. This place was founded in 1850 by a man named Louis Vuitton, first producing LV brand trunks and then moving onto bags and purses as shown in today's world. During this day, or it seems every single day as I have researched about this place, there are always people standing outside waiting to go in and buy products from headquarters. Same with Galeries Lafayette, there was a long line of people just waiting, some impatiently, to buy the brands of Louis Vuitton.

We had one more stop to go before reaching our final destination, the Eiffel Tower. To get to the Eiffel Tower, we had to cross this huge bridge which was so pretty that my family and I had to stop and take pictures as well. Here are some of the pictures we took from the bridge.

Our final destination that day was the one and only Eiffel Tower, or Tour Eiffel as the French call it! The Tour Eiffel is the tallest structure in Paris and one of the tallest in the world and is the most paid attraction to visit in Paris. Every person you meet, when thinking of Paris, France, will think of the Tour Eiffel. It was listed having the tallest height in the world from 1889 to 1930. That day, it was super crowded, so the lines to go up to the Tour Eiffel were crazy long. My family did not want to wait that long for the tower. Here are a few pictures of the Tour Eiffel.

And as we got closer...

To far again again from the other side, viewing the Tour Eiffel from the Palais de Chaillot.

And thus concluded our adventure for that day. Next week, I will share of my adventures to Mont St. Michel.

Until next time, my friends!

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
