Be Nice To Us Retailers This Holiday Season

Just because we are doing our job, does not mean you can be rude to us while you shop.

Be Nice To Us Retailers This Holiday Season

Working retail can be fun especially when you are working with people you like and with people who you are friends with. It can also be bore when you it is super slow and there are no customers in the store. Then there are other times when it can be horrendous because of one customer or multiple customers. Working during the holidays can be a little bit of fun and horrendous.

We as retail workers want to help you in any way that we can, whether it be to help you find a certain size or certain type of clothing, but please do not get mad at us if we tell you no, or tell you we do not have the certain item in store or if an item in nonrefundable. The holiday season is here and with that comes those customers who are testy and those who get mad when we do not have certain things in the store, or we tell them something they do not like. Trust me, I wish it was easy and we had what you were looking for, but we don't.

People this time of year buy gifts for people, making sure things fit right for either that party they are going to or that special occasion they planned for their significant other. I know sometimes we procrastinate on that last minute shopping, but it does not give you the right to get angry with us when we are doing all that we can to help you and if we say no, well take it and don't argue.

Read the fine print on the signs that have the sales on them, make sure you know what you have to do in order to get the sale. If the sign says you have to spend 35 dollars to get the 30% off, then make sure you have 35 dollars worth of items. We do not make the prices of the items and we can't change that, no matter how many times you ask for my manager, they will tell you exactly what I told you. I know that it is hard to hear, but it is not our fault you did your holiday shopping last minute. If you tell us that you are never going to shop at our store ever again, well bye! So, please as you are doing your holiday shopping this season, to be nice to us retailers. We are just doing our job and want to help you in anyway we can.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
