Be Like Him, Not Like Them

The will of God supersedes the will of the world.

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Romans 12:2) (KJV)

Nowadays, it is too easy to be part of the crowd instead of standing up and being yourself. We are told we need to look a certain way, be a certain size, and even what to think! God didn't create us to be the same; yes, we were all made in His image, but we are meant to all find our own way, to be our own person. How fun would life be if we were all the same? Predictable and boring isn't fun; it's......well......predictable and boring. Don't be so quick to join the "in" crowd; be your own you! Be the you He made you to be!

Isn't it great to know we have a God who loves us just the way we are?!! There are some things we should all do the same, such as love one another, love ourselves, and praise the Lord. But never think it's okay to let any person of this world tell you who to be! When we choose a relationship with Jesus Christ, we are made new in Christ! Old habits wash away, and the will of God is placed in our hearts. You won't want to conform to the world; the will of God will make you better than anything you could ever imagine!

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
