Be Joyful

Joy is a beautiful thing.

Joy. Pure bliss and happiness. A cheerful feeling free from life’s worries and sorrow. Joy is one of my favorite words and one of the best things to feel. This is a word most people don’t use on a daily basis. This needs to change. Everyone deserves to feel and spread joy every day.

To me, the word joy describes a state of pure happiness and bliss that cannot be accurately described using other words. Joy is an amazing feeling of delight that cannot be matched; it is a sense of happiness and comfort that causes you to forget about your worries and sadness. My definition of joy is something that is not dependent on outside circumstances.

Joy is not something that needs to be reserved for special occasions. It is something you can experience every day of your life. Often, joy is not something that you feel because of something that happens, it is something you choose to feel. When you start your day by choosing to be joyful, your day will be filled with happiness. Joy doesn’t have to come only when times are happy and perfect; it comes when you choose to ignore your struggles and rejoice in the blessings in your life.

When I began to intentionally ignore my worries and just try to be joyful, I transformed into a completely different person. I became a happier, kinder person. I began to spread this joy to others. The true, immense joy I felt was wonderful. I felt happier and more free than I had ever felt in my life.

Everyone deserves to feel joy. This is something that helps you forget about all the negatives and just be happy. Plan to start each day with joy. You may just change your life. You are blessed. Rejoice in your blessings, and forget your sorrows (at least every once in a while).

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.
