In honor of Women's month, I want to celebrate all the women who makes a difference in our world everyday, no matter what title they have. Whether women are nurses, teachers, artists, mothers, or daughters, I am saluting you for making a difference in this world, by living everyday and choosing not to give up. Everyday you wake up, you wake up victorious. You make the choice to wake up and conquer your fears. You are fierce. You are fearless. You are YOU.
As a young girl, I was taught to be cautious. I was told, "Your a young lady. You shouldn't be acting like that." Because of that I grew up insecure with my actions as a girl. Then the stereotypes of a perfect woman. Long hair, skinny body, clear face. This is when I felt insecure about my body. The older I got, the more changes I see in myself. Yet, I learned to fall in love with myself with everything I got.
Every women has faced their self insecurity phase. There are women who still go through this phase. And as we celebrate women's month, let's celebrate by uplifting other women to be who they are without boundaries. Be who they want to be without circumstances. Women are so powerful. We keep going even if we're sick. We keep going even if we don't feel like it. This is who women are.
One of the most inspirational women Marianne Williamson said, "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence."
Looking at this quote, it teaches us to never change who you are because of fear. It teaches us to sine even though the world can be so dark. The world can be scary, yet who told us to back down. We learn to bring out the best of ourselves by achieving. Not only achieving the big accomplishments, but achieving to spark a fire for our little girls to continue to blaze a trail to be great.
This women's month, we celebrate women. Women who are thriving, and striving. Black women, Caucasian women, transgendered women, Arabic women, every women. Be the woman who you are meant to be. Get your crowns and wear it proud. For every month is women's month!
