The Breadwinner
Many a times films come out based around social issues of current interest, animated films sometimes do the same. The Breadwinner is a academy award winning animated film following a young girl living in Taliban controlled Afghanistan. Disturbing, dark and will make you cry more than once these conditions extend to issues such as Syria which you absolutely should be paying attention to.
Black Panther
This movie is very interesting, especially with it's director, Ryan Coogler. Coogler is Marvel's youngest film maker with Black Panter, which shows with his relevancy to social issues based from his film. Using race and social commentary in a tasteful, almost educational way, Black Panther has given confidence to a group of people who many feel need it now more than they have in the past few decades.
Black Mirror
Black Mirror is a very popular series that's on Netflix. Many young people are drawn to the show, I'm sure you've run into bar talks of people discussing how much of a trippy episode the last seasons finale was. Is it because that even us young adults don't understand a lot of the technological advancements going on now that sometimes reading the news and keeping up with scientific findings can almost seem like a episode right out of the show.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
The nostaligia of the original Jumanji made me go see this movie. It's almost as if they wait to put movies out until theres nothing else to make you go all nostagic for and then they throw something out like a sequal to a great movie that in no way compares to the first one. This happens again and again with different titles, and you just keep trying hoping a better one will come along....
