Why I am Going to be a YouTuber

The social media platform is more appealing than ever.

Ninja

Youtube has become more than a website, it's a business. You have guys like Ninja who have over 13 million subscribers. That is more than the population of the 5th largest state in the US. Ninja plays a video game (Fortnite) and makes $500,000 a month. The video game world is not what I want to break into, however. I want to be a vlogger, more along the lines of Jake Paul who just films his life and makes money off of social media and his merchandise. He made $12.5 million in 2017. I don't plan on being as obnoxious as Jake Paul but it's no question that his outlandish personality makes him a hit.

Most people like to talk about themselves. Now imagine having an outlet to talk about yourself where you were uninterrupted and could go on as long as you want and people would tune in every week. On top of that, you would get paid to do what you love, which is essentially, talking. There are multiple aspects of being a vlogger - you have to lead an interesting life or know about what people are interested in.

Ideally, I would do both, but right now my life is not too interesting. I dream of the days that are soon to come where I will be traveling the world, camera in hand, with a smile on my face. I will meet new people every day and visit new locations that are beyond what suburban living has to offer. All I have to do is film what I see and talk about some of the things I did. After my following is large enough companies will be itching to give me handouts: travel fees, hotel fees, and food. All these are paid for on behalf of giving their company a good word.

That sounds a lot like a travel blogger, which is another path I would consider. The difference is that blogging means writing and vlogging means taking videos. I consider myself a good writer but sometimes words don't get the job done. I could tell you about my trip to Hawaii and the black sand beaches and the weather beaten rock formations off the coast but until you saw the pictures you wouldn't fully understand the beauty of it.

A picture is worth a thousand words so a video must be worth a million.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
