If there's anyone who loves a good rom-com, it's me. I am the biggest hopeless romantic and swoon over adorable, budding relationships coming alive on my TV screen. Netflix did us all a favor by releasing two movies that pull at our heart strings--Sierra Burgess is a Loser and To All the Boys I've Loved Before. Both movies were released within weeks of each other. While I enjoy both movies, I have a clear favorite, and I want to discuss why!

1. Peter v. Jamey

It's really cool to compare Peter from To All the Boys and Jamey from Sierra Burgess because they are played by the same actor. I think Noah Centineo does an incredible job at portraying these characters, and according to all the attention he has been getting, the rest of the world feels the same way! Both boys are super flirty which makes the scenes fun to watch. When it comes down to it though, Jamey is my favorite. Maybe it's because he's unsuspecting and quirky. Peter's cool and has great qualities, but I just don't know if he made his feelings for Lara Jean as obvious as a lot of fans think. It's not that Peter was unkind or mean; Jamey just made me want to give him a hug and root for his over-the-phone relationship.

2. Lara Jean v. Sierra

Let me start by saying that I appreciate these characters for different reasons. I loved that Lara Jean was in touch with her emotions. She was kind enough to pretend to be someone's girlfriend which probably wasn't the smartest thing to do, but I guess it worked out for her! Also, can we talk about her room and outfits? The cutest! Sierra Burgess was incredibly relatable. She seemed confident in her own skin until a love interest came into the picture. I'm sure all of us have felt that way at some point. I also loved that she was happy, smart, and funny. She did, however, lose some points from me when she neglected her best friend, Dan, and assumed things before talking to Veronica. With that being said, I think I relate more to Sierra, BUT I would just love to live Lara Jean's life for a day.

3. The storylines

Both movies had interesting storylines. I could replay some of my favorite scenes from To All the Boys over and over. I liked that Sierra Burgess was similar to watching an episode of Catfish but way better. When watching Lara Jean and Peter's relationship come together, sometimes I felt unsure of whether I thought they belonged together. I guess that makes it somewhat suspenseful. On the other hand, I thought Sierra and Jamey's personalities were PERFECT for each other, and I was rooting for them from the beginning. Overall, both made my heart super happy.

4. Which is better?

Sierra Burgess rules. Others may not agree with me, but I think Sierra Burgess was more entertaining and interesting while To All the Boys was mostly just cute. Don't hate me! I love both movies for different reasons. But immediately after watching Sierra Burgess, I wanted to watch it again! After all that's been said though, I would love a sequel from both!

If you haven't seen these movies, you absolutely have to do so soon! Then, you can debate with your friends about which is better!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
