Why It Is Not Basic To Unapologetically Love Fall

Let's just take a look at the amazingness of fall shall we?

Fall, the most glorious time of the year. It's no longer 110 degrees outside, football is in season, baseball is in the playoffs, and the food is incredible. Family gatherings (which you either love or hate) abound and everything just feels right with the world.

In the past couple years, there has been a trend of making fun of people who passionately love fall. You probably know exactly what I'm talking about.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. The term "Basic B****" has become synonymous with girls who passionately love fall. To which I have to say, y'all are a bunch of haters.

I don't understand how loving bright vivid colors, cooler temperatures, comfy clothes, and good sports makes you basic. Let's review the many amazing things about fall.

1. Comfy Clothes

Fall is a time of soft jersey dresses and shirts, sweat pants and boots, scarves and hats. Basically, it's socially acceptable to walk around feeling like you are cozily wrapped up in bed.

2. Amazing food is everywhere

I don't know about you, but I passionately love food. Good food is literally everywhere. Thanksgiving is forever my favorite holiday. So. Much. Yummy. Food. I really think we should get to have a second thanksgiving, maybe around April or May? Yeah, let's do that.

3. The weather

If you're from any of the southern states, then there is absolutely no reason you should mock people for loving fall. However long your fall last, be it a couple days or maybe a week or two, you enjoy the heck out of it. No one likes melting 365 days a year I'll have you know. If you do, then move to the desert I guess.

4. The sports are better

Two words that drive me insane "March. Madness." Ew. Baseball, now there's a sport worth talking about, and I know it starts in the spring, but the fall is when things really start amping up. I am newly starting to appreciate football as well, which is once again a fall thing.

5. I'm entitled to my favorite season

At the end of the day, I'm entitled to my favorite season. That's why it's called a favorite, you see. Gone are the days when I would change my opinion just to please other people.

I unapologetically love fall, and I don't care how "basic" that may seem to you.

Fall Forever Y'all.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.

11 Things We Learned From Brooke Davis

"What's more important? What we become or how we become it?"

Brooke Davis

"She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, and beautiful, and brave. In two years she had grown more than anyone I had ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world someday, and I'm not sure she even knows it." - Lucas Scott, An Unkindness of Ravens

Brooke Davis of the hit show One Tree Hill was the it girl - she had it all, or so we thought. She started out as a stuck-up, shallow, spoiled, head cheerleader who didn't have her life together. She slept around a lot and loved to party - sounds like your typical high school teenager right? Wrong. B. Davis had so much more to offer. Caring, loyal, and outspoken, she has taught us some valuable lessons throughout the 9 seasons that OTH was on the air:

We all have a person, and when that person makes some new friends, we tend to forget all the great things that can come out of it. Never forget how special they are to you and why you are best friends.
