Three Basic Tips To Being Organized

As a student, who not only goes to school full-time, but works a part-time job and has a current internship, I know life can get the best of me,. But I also know I am not alone.

There are many days where I come home exhausted only to catch myself thinking of all the other things I have to get done, like laundry, cleaning my place, cooking food for dinner, etc.

I have found that staying organized has made my life so much easier, making sure I get all my personal chores done on-top of school work and getting enough time to sleep.

Here are some of the things I do that help me stay organized and productive.

1. Keeping a Planner

Honestly, having a planner was one of the best things that has happened to me as a student. Having a planner not only keeps my life organized, but my brain organized as well. Because I have so much going on, I have a lot in my head as well, which tends to make me forgetful. Keeping a planner has gotten me into the habit of writing done everything I have to get done for the day, week, month and upcoming months, I literally write down everything. Assignments,, deadlines, birthdays, bill due dates, laundry days, you name it. It is all written down in my planner. That way, not only do I know what I have going on within the next few days, I also know what's going on during the whole month and I won't forget anything.

2. Meal Prepping

Though I am still working on this one, when I actually do it, I must say meal prepping saves my life, and my stomach's sanity. When I come home after a long day, the last thing I want to do is cook food for myself. Having food in the fridge that is waiting to be warmed up is so much better than having to spend 1-2 hours prepping and making a meal. Meal prepping not only saves me time, but money as well. Though it is time consuming, it will overall save a lot more time during the week than what you spend during the day of meal prepping. Also, when meal prepping, you can pack your lunch and snacks for work, school, etc., which will prevent you from spending money on food. It can also be a good idea for those who are trying to eat healthy.

3. Staying Tidy

One of the major keys to staying organized, is to be tidy and clean. If you have laundry that needs to be folded, don't just leave it in your laundry basket, FOLD IT! It seems like a pain in that moment, but once the task is completed, you will feel a lot better. Tidy up your desk, keep your room clutter-free, do your dishes, just stay clean and neat! You can't be organized if you're messy and have a clutter of things everywhere. Chances are if you're messy than so is your mind and life at that current moment.

Just starting with these three basic steps, will make a huge difference in your lifestyle. Not only will you be less stressed, but more productive if you stay organized. All this leads to happiness, which is what we all want at the end of the day right?!!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
