October is finally right around the corner and Halloween is going to creep up faster than you think! If you’re like me, you’ve probably already started thinking about Halloween costumes, ESPECIALLY if you are in college!! #Halloweekend #Duh

Being original and unique with your costume can be tricky so if you don’t want to be a cat, bunny, or vampire like every other girl at your school, here are 10 costume ideas for you and your friends!

1. Lime, Tequila, & Salt

Grab three friends and dress up as the most iconic trio to ever exist: Lime, Tequila, & Salt. Not only is this super easy but also very funny. You will need a silver or white dress for salt, lime green dress for lime, and sparkly gold dress for tequila. Where signs around your neck with what you are and for tequila, you can put a brand like Jose Cuervo or Patron.

2. Bridezilla

Wear a white dress and white shoes and put a lace veil in your hair! Use fake blood and splatter it all over your outfit and veil for a little twist ;)

3. Deer

If you like doing makeup this idea is super fun. If you go on Pinterest and type in deer Halloween makeup looks, so many cool makeup ideas will pop up and you can replicate it for yourself! As for your outfit you can wear a light brown dress or bodysuit, heels or boots, and fur vest. You can even accessorize with antlers or put your hair in space buns.

4. Mermaid

Again, this idea is really cool if you are into doing unique makeup looks. You can do the same thing with the Deer idea and go on Pinterest and look up cool ways to replicate a mermaid makeup look. A trick is using fishnet tights as a stencil and patting in sparkly eyeshadow on your face. For your outfit, you can wear shiny blue or silver leggings or skirt and a crop top that has a scallop detail or texture.

5. Dalmatian & Firefighter

Get a friend dress up as this cute duo! For the firefighter outfit just wear a black, red, or yellow dress and accessorize with a firefighter hat and suspenders. For the Dalmatian costume, you can DIY by getting a white top and skirt and drawing black spots on both. Put your hair in two pigtails to act as "ears" and draw a nose on your face with black eyeliner.

6. Breakfast at Tiffany's

For any of you girly girls, this is a classic yet unique idea. Dress up as the iconic Audrey Hepburn by wearing a black dress with heels and accessorize with all the pearls you can think of. Put your hair in a bun and you are good to go!

7. Clueless

Another classic idea from a classic movie! Channel your inner 90's with all the plaid, bright colors, and knee-high socks! For this costume, you'll need a plaid yellow skirt, white knee-high socks, a white tank top, and plaid yellow sweater or blazer.

8. Cheetah Girls

This is the most comfortable costume for sure. Get four of your girlfriends and dress up as the ICONIC cheetah sisters. All you'll need is four different colored sweat suits (pink, purple, yellow, and blue) and matching headbands for each. Make sure when you take your picture you copy their famous pose in their sweatsuits!

9. Mime

For this costume, all you'll need is black pants or shirt, a white and black striped shirt, black suspenders, and a black beret. You can even paint your face and recreate the classic mime makeup.

10. Scarecrow

This is definitely a cute idea that is very festive for the Halloween season! All you will need is a plaid shirt, jean overalls, brown boots, a straw hat, and eyeliner to recreate the stitches of a scarecrow along your lips.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
